Christmas with me

This year my mum had a bigger pile of presents than anyone else.

This is my sister's boyfriend Jamie – but you can't really see him, he seems to have disappeared into the chair; it is a nice shot of Nameless Bear though.

My mum bought some Paint your own Faires from the Pound Shop (I love the Pound Shop) so my mum, my sister and I sat on the floor and painted them. Then we decided it was so much fun that we would get my mum's 'inspiration file' out and make sticky pictures out of all the bits and bobs she had collected, well, my mum and I made sticky pictures, my sister coloured in. Colouring is fabulous no matter how old you are.

It was fun, but it did cause devastation in the living room.

Note the presence of a large tub of Quality Street. You can tell it was Christmas. The purple and the triangular green ones are my favourites.

It snowed while I was there, and settled prettily so I went for a walk with my digital camera…

My footprints

Duck and geese footprints

They amused me for ages.

And speaking of footprints. I found a big patch of snow that no one (human or duck) had walked though…

…and I couldn't help myself

Me and my shadow

Their feet must be cold

Feeding frenzy

But I wouldn't fancy having a picnic myself

Or sitting down for that matter

There was still some green though

Me trying to be artistic and fighting with auto focus

Redcar is by the sea, and there was snow on the beach.

Freaky

Frozen seaweed

This amused me. A santa sock on the beach covered in sand and snow. Festive.

And last but not least. Along the seafront near a little boating lake is a family of concrete penguins looking out to sea. No one really knows why they are there, but I like them. They are usually surrounded by sand, but not when I walked past them

They must feel right at home.
Phew!
