All the fun of the fare
Sep. 12th, 2004 09:39 pmI went to a ‘Holistic and Psychic Faye ’ today. They’re always fun, there’s usually something interesting and something ridiculous. The last one I went to had someone who drew portraits of people’s spirit guides. It’s not that I don’t believe in that sort of thing, because I do but the stall had lots of pastel pictures of fairies and pointy eared pixies, and of course, Native Americans (cliché much?) The guy who did them wasn’t at his stall unfortunately because I really wanted to have one done so I could laugh.
He wasn’t there today and neither was the Magnetising Your Water Is Great man, but there were lots and lots of fairies. Cutesy, fluffy, pink, pig dog ugly fairies.
I think you could buy any old piece of tat, stick a halo, some wings and a bit of glitter on it – or better yet, a dolphin, and some new age sucker will take it off your hands for twice what you paid for it. It baffles me.
Still, the whole thing was very jolly and I got myself a amethyst bracelet and a crystal necklace (which I’m not convinced is real crystals and not glass – but hey! it’s prettah). Because while I’m not a ‘the dolphins will save us all’ fluffy bunny new ager, I am a crystal wearing earth based religion kind of girl.
I walked through St Annes Wells Park on the way home and took lots of pictures of trees. *pets camera*
It’s a sweet little park, so named because it used to have one of those natural springs with water that’s full of nutrients or something. There are lots of trees, stupid fat pigeons and stupid fat squirrels – who are trisky and swift and difficult to take pictures of.
My creative writing course starts tomorrow. It’s called Write Away! And the blurb says “Have you ever wanted to write? Come and have a go in a friendly and supportive environment.” I have no idea what to expect. My experience with adult education courses is that they’re mostly made up with middle aged women and are usually a good laugh. We shall see....
ps Why does Photobucket hate me?
