skylarking: (tea)

Chinese food overload. I went to Lee Cottage for their £5.80 lunch special with Mel and there’s so much MSG in my system I feel like I’m being pickled.

It was good though.

I can’t believe it’s almost 4 o’clock, all I’ve done today is do some shopping, had lunch and washed up. Saucepan Mountain is now towering over everything in the kitchen because I’ve been too lazy to do it over the last couple of days.

I saw chocolate advent calendars in Somerfield. It’s only October 1st and there are advent calendars in the shops. I think there should be some sort of law passed that means you can’t have Christmas stuff for sale until the end of November at the very earliest. We haven’t even had Halloween yet!

I made up a new word at lunch.

Stickly.

I was trying to describe the sweet and sour sauce and got stuck between sticky and thick. I like stickly, I think it’s a good word.

My dad called me earlier and asked me if I wanted to go for a coffee or something tomorrow. We used to go for lunch together quite regularly but we got out of the habit around the time he started seeing my stepmum. I’m kind of suspicious. It was just a bit odd, either he’s got something he wants to tell me or my mum has had a go at him about something. She was huffing about him when she was down.

But then maybe he just thinks it will be nice to have a cup of coffee with me. We’ll see.

xmas stuff seems to be appearing in the shops earlier and earlier. It used to be mid-october, now it's the end of August! I really don't understand how anyone can summon up any sort of enthusiasm for christmasy things at the beginning of autumn.
